Masters Rowing

The Cape Coral Rowing Club at Cape Harbour is mainly a sweep rowing club, and provides adults of all ages programs to fit their needs.  The club has an active masters program, Scholastic Program and Learn to Row Program.

Weekend rowing at 7am is Intensive Rowing, and not for the beginning rower.  The rowing is geared toward those that are attending regattas throughout the year, or those that just want a great workout.

At 9am, during the cooler months of October to June, we have 9am Fitness rows, where the concentration is on technique and drills as we slowly bring up your fitness level if needed.  This timeslot is for those that don't want to go all out, or just don't want to get up early.  All levels of rowers attend.

New this year will be sculling workshops for those that would like to learn the art of sculling. (Two oars).   Look on our Calendar of Events for program listings.

The CCRC is always in need of good coxswains, whose main job is to steer the boat and be the on-the-water coach.  Coxswains work closely with the coaching staff.  On the water, they carry out the coaches practice plans, and are very integral to the entire team.   If you are on the small side, preferably around 110 pounds, give or take a few pounds, and not too tall, we certainly would love to have you give it a try.  The Masters and Scholastic Programs both need coxswains.

Here is a link to the CCRC Coxswain Handbook written by the Coxswain Committee. It was written specifically for our club and our waterway and is very easy to read and understand by any non-rower or beginner.   If this interests you, come on out any weekend and give it a try!
