Scholastic Rowing

The Scholastic Rowing Program is open to students 14 to 18 and starts each year in August and ends in May/June.  Practices are every Mon., Wed., and Fri. at 3:30 pm. The fee for this program is $200 per year plus traveling expenses for regattas attended throughout the season. Students who are interested in joining can stop by the club during any of the practice sessions and speak with a coach.

Rowing offers High School students the opportunity to learn about teamwork, commitment, dedication and strength training.  It also gives them the opportunity to be involved and compete in Scholastic Rowing Regattas regionally and throughout the East Coast. Many student rowers who excel at the sport are able to attain scholarships to Ivy League and top colleges throughout the United States and Europe.

Students interested in learning more about the sport of rowing can call or email the club for more information.

E-mail Print PDF

Our first set of seniors are off to college and will continue rowing.  Kelly Mercer attended Canterbury High School and is now rowing with the Varsity Women’s team at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Nathaniel Liu, also from Canterbury High School is attending Georgetown University where he is a Coxswain on the Men’s Varsity team. Both rowed with the CCRC for two years and will be missed by all. Both will be terrific assets to their teams and hope they will come back and visit us.
